Alton is a small market town with a good range of shops, leisure activities, attractions and places to stay and eat. We have some light industry, but our main focus seems to be small specialist companies. Having said this, Alton has some of the largest employers in the area.
Aside from the offices and industrial units on the outskirts of town, we also have a number of farm-based business parks. There are also a good number of people operating their businesses from home offices. The surrounding countryside still yields income for the farming community and is an important asset for those living in the area.
