| Alton Chamber of Commerce is primarily a lobbying organisation, working with local councils and other relevant bodies to promote and develop the local economy. We also hold meetings once a month (4th Thursday evening), allowing local businesspeople the opportunity to socialise, network and to hear a speaker. Many events are held at local businesses and venues in the Alton area, helping to highlight the wide offering Alton has to make. We also take an active role in the Alton Town Partnership, Alton Initiatives Management Ltd. (AIM) and many other groups, making a positive input towards developing Alton's local economy. If you are unaware of the role of Chambers' of Commerce, there are many all over the country and across the world. Alton Chamber not only focuses on local business-related issues, but looks at the wider county and regional problems and benefits that can shape the world we live in. | |
